When Clotilde over at Chocolate and Zucchini shared this article about the amount of protein in vegetables and fruits, I knew this was something I’d want to save to refer back to. I’m not a vegetarian, but I don’t eat a ton of meat, either, so plant-based protein sources are key to my diet.
The charts can take a while to digest, but here are a few things I’m going to try to implement in my eating routine to make sure I get the protein I need for my workouts:
– For salads, try for spinach over romaine or iceberg lettuce (it’s next to impossible to find collards or kale in Paris)
– Snack on pistachios, peaches or bananas on workout days
– Green peas would be a great side for a workout-night dinner
